We prefer to have files supplied as press ready PDF files if you'e working in Powerpoint, InDesign or Illustrator. If you're working in Photoshop, we just need your file at 100dpi JPG files at actual size. If you have fine detail and small text, then you can work at 150dpi. You do not need to work in a higher resolution than 150dpi. Large format printing is different to litho printing where 300dpi is required. If you're unsure, please call us and we will talk you through..
-
If you're working in Powerpoint, you can supply your file at actual size or a proportional scale. For example, an A4 size enlarges perfectly to A0 size, so you if you prefer, you can work at A4 or A3 size for convenience. At print stage we enlarge your file using our sophisticated RIP software. This ensures that no quality is lost.
-
Do not make PDF files from Photoshop. Supply them as JPG files without compresion - i.e. Maximum Quality. Before printing, we resave your files to TIF format to preserve the quality.
-
Images used within Powerpoint, Illustrator or InDesign: For optimum output, all images at the final printed size should be a maximum of 100dpi - 150dpi. For example if you are producing an A0 poster, and you are supplying a artwork at A4 size create your images at 350dpi - 400dpi. This will give you perfect results at A0 size - i.e. 400dpi image enlarged x 4 = 100dpi (A4 > A0 is a 400% increase)
-
Avoid using images from the internet - they may look good on screen but resolution of these images are very low and your final result may be pixelated.
- Please do not include bleeds or crops in any file you send us unless requested.

Accepted File Formats |
|
|
|
PDF
Most Applications have a built in 'Save as PDF' option.
Your PDF files should always be set to ‘Press Ready’ or ‘High Quality Print’ if the press ready option is not available. Please do not include bleeds or crops. |
|
|
|
JPG
Please ensure your JPG file is at least 100dpi at actual size. This is the same as 400dpi at 25% scale.
You do not have to supply your file at the final output size of your job as we can enlarge your file using our RIP software at the time of printing. This is a much better method then enlarging in Photoshop.
Do not make PDF files from your jpg. Supply them as-is. Ensure that when you are saving your jpg file, the 'quality' is left to 'maximum / no compression'. Please do not include bleeds or crops. |
